(Witness) Census 18416 Jun 1841 Sarah Ann Williams appeared as Sarah Williams, age 12, female, born Ireland in the household of John Williams and Elizabeth Allen in the 1841 census at Reynolds Row Chapel Place, at Illogan; John and Eliza now have 4 children, Phebe Maria 1828, Sarah Ann 1829-33, both born in Ireland). Adelaide was born 1836 (Newquay) and John 1839 (Illogan). Also staying with them is a Betsey Williams, possibly John’s sister. They are living at Reynolds Row/Chapel Place, Portreath, Illogan, Redruth. John's occupation is still Chief Officer, Coastguard. On the birth certificate of my Great Grandfather, Alfred Albert in 1845 they are still at the same place and father John is same occupation and rank.3,4 
(Witness) Census 185130 Mar 1851 Sarah Ann Williams was listed as Sarah A Williams, unmarried, age 21, at home, born Waterford Ireland in the household of John Williams and Elizabeth Allen in the census of 1851 at No 1 Illogan, at Portreath; John (Chief Officer Coast Guard) and family, including 5 year old Alfred Albert are living at the Square, Portreath. There are 7 children at home. Phebe Maria is possibly married, 12 year old John is not present and Charles Louis is yet to be born. Also on the census form is a visitor, George Denbigh, Sarah Ann’s future husband. John was transferred to Orford Ness on 25 March 1853 and he was discharged (retired) from the Coastguard on 31/12/1857 at the age of 56. His gross pay before retirement was £100 p.a.!!!5,3

(Witness) Census 18617 Apr 1861 Sarah Ann Williams appeared as Sarah A Denbigh, sister-in-law, married, age 30, born Ireland in the household of Richard Hockin Treglown and Pheobe Maria Williams in the census at Fore Street, at Illogan; Richard, 33,an accountant with wife Pheobe, 33 and all 4 children and his sister in law and her son and one servant.8 
(Witness) Census 18712 Apr 1871  On 2 Apr 1871 Sarah Ann Williams appeared as Sarah Denbigh, Daughter, married 38. Her husband is back in Penzance with the children in the household of Elizabeth Allen in this census at 88 Basset Street, at Illogan; Husband John has died and Eliza is now described as a ‘Widow of Government Officer’. She is back at Portreath/Illogan and her daughter Sarah Ann Denbigh (now married and living in Penzance) is visiting her.3,9
