They had two daughters, Margaret born 1944 but died aged 13 months. Patricia born 1948. Patricia went on to study at East Anglia University, near Norwich, where she visited her Grandfather's cousin, Nellie Catton (Nee Hopkins). She left there to work in the library at Manchester University, and was there when her cousin Jeffrey Tansley was employed as a lecturer at the same university.2
