He was the sheriff of Lincoln County, New Mexico as well as Doña Ana County, New Mexico.2

Married Name Her married name was Greer.
Note* She and Aquilla (Equella) Greer [Children shown may not belong to this marriage].3
Note* Elizabeth Bandy and Samuel Arrington Believe this is the right Elizabeth Greer.4
Birth*c 1750 Elizabeth Bandy was born c 1750.5,6,1
Marriage*c 1767 She married Aquilla (Equella) Greer, son of Aquilla Greer and Elizabeth Lowe, c 1767 at Bedford County, VA, USA; Aquilla5 GREER, Jr (7.Aquilla4, 6.John 5.James2, l.James, Sir1) was born 1744 in Baltimore County, Maryland
Aquilla, Jr. died about 1783 in Bedford County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth BANDY (See number 9072) about 1767
in Bedford County, Virginia. She was born about 1750. She was the daughter of Richard BANDY and Elizabeth
CARD WELL. Elizabeth died after 1808.
They had 8 children:
William GREER, born 6 Apr 1768, died after 1850.
Asa GREER, born about 1772, died about 1845.
Richard GREER, born 1773, died 1806.

Aquilla GREER, III, born 1779, died about 1869. [See page 522]
Elizabeth GREER, born 1781, died Nov 1860.6,1
(widow) Deathc 1783 Elizabeth Bandy was widowed by the death of Aquilla (Equella) Greer c 1783 at Bedford County, VA, USA; The Rev. James William Dupree. retired Methodist Minister of Columbus, Georgia identified Bedford County. Virginia and the year 1782 as the last place and year that Aquilla paid taxes; and the next year 1783, Elizabeth was listed as "widow", in Bedford County. For the years 1784, 1785 and 1786 in Bedford County, she is also listed as "widow". In l787, because of county boundary changes, she is listed in Franklin County, Virginia by herself. In 1788 and 1789. she is listed with white males over 16. On 17 July 1790, son Asel is listed as "white male over 16" next to Elizabeth, widow.
On 16 July 1791, Richard and Asel are listed next to Elizabeth, widow. On 7 July 1792 , Richard and Elizabeth, widow, are listed together. Elizabeth, widow, is listed with "Lige" (Elijah); and Asel in 1793 and 1794. Asa and Elizabeth are listed for years 1796 and 1797. In the 1787 tax list published as the 1787 CENSUS OF VIRGINIA FRANKLIN COUNTY, taken from the Franklin Tax List A - District of Moses Greer, gentleman and Commissioner "Elizabeth Greer was visited 4/2/1787. page 639. On page 625 of the same Tax List A, Elizabeth is taxed for self, 4 horses, mules, etc. and 7 cattle" but noted "widow, not taxable**.
Although her husband Aquilla had died. Richard Bandy, her father had died and left his will in 1795, Elizabeth elected to stay on in the home she and Aquilla had shared with their 8 children, and did not join the Senior Aquilla and Elizabeth, all the brothers and sisters of Aquilla, Jr. and their families and many other Greer related families on their relocation to Georgia, which began shortly before 1790. In his will dated April 1790. the Senior Aquilla left his grandchildren, children of Aquilla, his son, money but ded not name them nor relate the number. [Son] William [Greer] appears to have been very close to his grandparents; he probably made the trip with them to Georgia. He is also believed to be the William Greer who witnessed his grandfather's will, written on 8 April 1790, after they arrived in Greene County. Georgia. Whether he returned to Franklin County. Virginia before 1798. when the land of his father and mother was deeded to Samuel Arrington. is unknown. He did marry Delilah Haynes. his first cousin, in Greene County, Georgia in 1797.7,1
(Witness) Note7 Nov 1798 Elizabeth Bandy was a witness There is a deed in Franklin County, Virginia. Book 3. Page 627, dated 7 November 1798. between "William Greer, son of Aquilla Greer, of
Oglethorpe County. Georgia, and Samuel Arrington of Franklin County. Virginia"...(Same land description of the above 336 acres, more or less), it being
the land that Aquilla Greer Jun owned and left to his heirs at his decease". Thus Elizabeth BANDY's son who inherited the land on his father's death gave/sold the land to his mother's intended second husband before they married. with William Greer and Samuel Arrington on 7 Nov 1798 at Franklin County, VA, USA.1
