MotherHarriet Bonner1 b. c 1824, d. 18 Apr 1858
Chartsline of John (D0962) c 1715 in Herts & Beds
Birth*Jun 1847 Jonas Bandy , son of Daniel Bandy and Harriet Bonner, was born in Jun 1847 at Westoning, BDF, ENG.2,3
Baptism23 Apr 1848 Jonas Bandy was baptized on 23 Apr 1848 at Houghton Regis, BDF, ENG; ? named after recently deceased uncle?1
(Witness) Census 185130 Mar 1851 He was listedin the household of Daniel Bandy and Harriet Bonner in the census of 1851 at 36 Chambers Yard, at Houghton Regis; Daniel is Head of Household aged 23, Harriet 25, both Straw plaiters. Jonah 4 and James 1 are with them.4
Name Variation  Jonas Bandy was also known as Jonah Bandy.5
(Witness) Death18 Apr 1858 He witnessed the Death of Harriet Bonner on 18 Apr 1858 at Shefford, BDF, ENG; age 34, wife of Daniel.6
Name Variation1865  As of 1865, Jonas Bandy was also known as William Bandy William's M Cert to Jane BERRY 22 Aug 1865 gives his father as Daniel the Hairdresser and his age as 20. This is fairly consistent with William's Census appearances and means he says he was born 1843-6. The problem is that Daniel's son William was born 8 Aug 1853 ( I have the B Cert) and would have been 12 at the time of the marriage so it isn't that son William. I actually think that it is Jonas, Daniel's son by his first wife Harriet BONNER who was born in Jun Q 1847. There are a number of reasons I think this - There is no record of an earlier William born to Daniel, who married Harriet 28-Jul-1827, although one should look for a William BONNER born before the marriage. Jonas disappears after 1851, William first appears at this marriage in 1865 - but the information he gives is consistent with Jonas' birth in Beds.5
Marriage*22 Aug 1865  On Tuesday, 22 Aug 1865 Jonas Bandy married Jane Berry in Swindon, WIL, ENG,He is WILLIAM 20 a Draper, she 22, both of the Bull Inn.5,7
Census 18712 Apr 1871 The Census of 2 Apr 1871 shows Jonas Bandy and Jane Berry at at The Globe, Winchester, HAM, ENG. William is a Travelling Draper.8
Census3 Apr 1881 Jonas Bandy appeared on the census of 3 Apr 1881 at Kings Corner, Pewsey, WIL, ENG; head age 39, Hawker.9
Death*Mar 1884 Jonas Bandy died, Alderbury, WIL in Mar 1884 (age 38).10
